Polis Pound Dogs - Looking for a Home

Orio - Male - 8 months approx

Oreo is a staffie cross and a very lively and friendly boy who loves everyone.

He was found wandering in Polis and being cared for by a lovely group of young people but was moved to the pound as they were worried about his safety due to the nearby road.

Oreo is starting to walk well on the leash and enjoys his walks.

He is waiting for the right person to come along and will make a very happy and loyal companion. Please get in touch if you would like to be his special friend.

Duke - Male - 6 Years Approx

Duke is fully vet checked and healthy. He can be a little shy when you first meet him but once he feels safe with you, he blossoms in to the sweetest and most loving companion.

Duke would love a calm, kind home where he can enjoy peaceful walks. He would really thrive by having a quiet environment with another confident dog around to help him feel safe.

Duke is a lovely kind soul and if you can offer him his forever home he will reward you with trust, devotion and a lifetime of love

Ben - Male - 2 Years Approx

Ben is around 2 years old and was found outside the pound by one of our volunteers during a particularly bad storm in March.

He is blind in one eye but the vet has checked him over and said that there’s nothing to worry about as he can see perfectly well with his good eye.

Apart from that he is in perfect health and would be best as an only dog.

Ben loves people , walks and of course lots of cuddles.

Sunny - Female - 1 year approx

Sunny is a very energetic hunting dog and approximately 1year old. She is fully vet checked, healthy and neutered.

She can be little bossy, so would prefer a home where she is the only dog as she does like a lot of attention.

Sunny is a very smart dog and would benefit from having an owner who would put the time in to do some training with her. She enjoys her walks and walks well on the leash.

Denver - Male - 18 months approx

Denver is around 1.5 years old, castrated, and roughly 18kg at his ideal weight.

He has Leishmaniasis, it has already been treated and is easily managed with simple medication and routine monitoring. He’s healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home.

Denver has a wonderful nature, energetic, friendly, and excited to make new friends. He gets along well with other dogs and people.

If you’re looking for a small–medium companion with bags of personality and a heart of gold, Denver is your boy.

Sadie - Female - 9 months approx

Sadie is a beautiful young hound cross, possibly with a little German Shepherd. She expected to grow to a lovely medium size, around 15–20kg fully grown.

Sadie has a playful nature, but she is on the calmer side and not hyper. She gets on well with everyone, loves cuddles and affection, and walks beautifully on the lead.

She is a real sweetheart with a gentle nature.

Bertie - Male - 4 year old

Bertie is around 3 years old, healthy and castrated. He is an extremely nervous dog but has never ever shown any signs of aggressive behaviour. He can be picked up without issue and will move to his safe space if he feels uncomfortable. He loves all other dogs, and they help him feel more confident, so we do need to find a home with another dog. Bertie will need a home with no children.

Faye - Female - 4 years old

Faye is estimated to be around 3 years old. We have had her fully vet checked and tested, she has a clean bill or health and has been spayed.

Faye is a dominant female, so she would be best with a none dominant male, and would be more than happy to be the only dog! Faye has a spark for adventure and would love a very active home, with plenty of walks and mental stimulation. This girl is full of personality and is fantastic company, she is eager to please and quick to learn!

Savvas - Male - 3 Years Approx

Savvas is around 3 years old, fully vet checked, healthy and castrated. he is an incredibly fun-loving, good-natured guy!

He listens to instructions well, and would love an active home. Savvas can be nervous in new situations, but once he is comfortable and bonds his beautiful personality shines though. Savvas is healthy and castrated. He is great with other dogs and a very well socialised boy. Savvas would like a home with either older children, or an adult household.

Doyle - Male - 5 years

Doyle is almost 5 years old and a hound cross.

He has been treated for Leishmania with low levels which is now in remission and just needs affordable daily medication to maintain his health.

Doyle loves his walks and is calm, kind and respectful. He walks well on the lead and is always eager to please. He comes fully vaccinated, castrated and treated for fleas, ticks and worms.

He may be a little shy at first but once he trusts you, he will make a perfect and loyal companion.

Isaac - Male - 2 Years Approx

Isaac is an energetic, super-happy boy who brings joy wherever he goes! He is 2 years old and loves attention, cuddles, and being around people. He’s already getting really good on the lead and is keen to please.

He walks beautifully with other dogs and is always ready to play, he truly thinks every dog is a potential best friend.

Bob - Male - 15 months approx

Bob is around 15 months old and a small but chunky hound cross.

He was very frightened when he first arrived at the pound but is now finding his feet and we are starting to see his beautiful, cheeky personality.

Bob is learning to walk well on the lead and loves his food. He is healthy, gets on well with other dogs and is now just waiting for his special person to come along.
