I can't recommend Polis Pound enough. From the very start when we applied, all the way through the adoption process they have been absolutely brilliant and it hasn't stopped there. Their support, advice and encouragement has continued ever since our little pup arrived. No question is ever a silly question. They have all been so lovely and welcoming and they clearly care so much for all the doggies and do their very best to ensure the doggies go to well matched homes. The group chats they set up with other adoptees and themselves make you feel like you are part of one big family. It really helps you get through the whole process. Our own little Dinkie Ted (once Kuru), is the sweetest, gentlest, most adorable mischievous little fella and that's down to all the love and care Polis Pound has shown him. We will be forever grateful for all that they have done and continue to do and for allowing us to adopt our wonderful boy.

We had the absolute best experience adopting our newest addition from Polis Pound! They were amazing, and they truly care about the animals in their care. The process was easy and pain free, they were in constant contact with us and answered any questions we had. We have recommended them to all of our friends looking to adopt. Sasha is the best little sister, she is so sweet and we absolutely love her. It was an amazing experience and we would do it again in a heartbeat. We had a dog before we adopted Sasha and they made sure that we would be a good fit for her, everything was amazing. I highly recommend Polis Pound to anyone looking to add a pet to their family. We got Bandit (was Mason) a week ago and he has already settled in wonderfully to our family. You can tell Polis gives the dogs so much love and care as they arrive healthy, trustful of people and adjust easily. Bandit is playful and eager to learn, and has already taken to simple commands. Human/doggo match makers, is there a passion or vocation to top that? Words will never fully detail quite how special this team is. They have set us upon our journey of becoming a family of 3, entrusting us with the beautiful soul that is Alexa. This would never have been possible without the dedicated work of each of the staff and volunteers bringing Alexa to the point she was at, in preparation to be rehomed, it is not a decision they take lightly. Alexa is an insanely intelligent, sensitive, intuitive, active pooch, who, whilst being a complete snuggle bug thrives on mental and physical stimulation, she is gentle, inquisitive, supremely alert and has already built a fierce bond with us both. Her bravery at tackling a whole new world after never living in a house is inspiring. The capacity of a dogs love is something quite phenomenal. Their steadfast belief in finding the perfect family for every dog is unrivalled, this rescue is such a personal endeavour for each of them and we are beyond grateful that we have (virtually) met such selfless and dedicated individuals. We can not thank the team enough for matching us with our queen, for having the faith in us to give her what she needs to thrive. Throughout this journey they have been our animal behaviourists, our therapists, our constant connection to our beautiful girl and our sanity. Their continuing support and encouragement is so valued as is our October 28th freedom flight family, community, that they were an intrinsic part of creating and encouraging. Words could never do it justice. The gift they have given us is beyond measure, it is something quite extraordinary; fulfilment & happiness, our spirit animal Alexa.

Working with Polis Pound was an absolute delight! I've never seen a pound or shelter care so much for their pups. I saw a review call them dog matchmakers, I can't say it any better! Our Lucy is truly the perfect girl for us. We were a little unsure about getting her since we weren't able to meet her first, but we quickly felt so confident as they helped us through the process. They were so thorough in making sure that more than just us finding our perfect pup, that she was finding her perfect forever home. They worked so hard to prepare us and make sure we were able to give her the home and life she needed, and I'm so grateful they did! She is flourishing in our home, and we are all flourishing together as a family. Our family adopted brother and sister, Freddie and Suki from Polis pound just over 3 weeks ago. I have to say what special pups they are. They have been so well cared for at the pound, they are loving and very soft natured. Our house now feels complete and I’d like to thank everyone at polis for putting so much hard work in to give these dogs the best start before they find their forever homes. This is our sweet, gentle Ben whom we adopted at the end of September from Polis Pound. Every step of the way, we’ve had great support from them: From the initial inquiries about the dog, to the interview, to how to prepare for his arrival, and even now, four weeks later, when I have a question or ask for advice, they’re still there for Ben! It’s clear that the volunteers genuinely care for the dogs. Ben had been well-socialized, was good on the lead, and had even been taught a couple basic commands. Our vet commented that rarely has she seen such a level of professionalism in the records of shelter dogs, as she saw in Ben’s records. It was obvious to her that Ben had been very well-cared for. Ben is everything Polis Pound described him to be. Our hearts are bursting with love for our new family member. We are boundlessly grateful to Polis Pound, to the volunteers, and to the donors who made our dream come true. I highly recommend Polis Pound!
Forest - UK
This was our first experience of adopting a new family member, and the team at Polis were such a brilliant help and support. They did a thorough check and made sure we were clear on everything at each stage , including the 'think time' before saying we were 100% sure about the dog we were looking to adopt. The result was Forest! We are coming up to 24hrs since he joined us and we are totally besotted with him and his wonderful nature. It is clear how much love and time has been put into each and every one of these dogs and cats 🙏
