Polis Pound Dogs - Looking for a Home

Mike is a very handsome German shepherd and just over a year old. 

He is neutered, fully vet checked and healthy.

Mike enjoys his walks and walks well on the leash. He loves people and gets very excited when he gets attention from our volunteers.

He is a very easy going dog and is now just waiting for the right family to come along. 

Ben is around 2 years old and was found outside the pound by one of our volunteers during a particularly bad storm in March. 

He is blind in one eye but the vet has checked him over and said that there’s nothing to worry about as he can see perfectly well with his good eye. 

Apart from that he is in perfect health and would be best as an only dog. 

Ben loves people , walks and of course lots of cuddles. 

 Oreo is a staffie cross and a very lively and friendly boy who loves everyone.

He was found wandering in Polis and being cared for by a lovely group of young people but was moved to the pound as they were worried about his safety due to the nearby road. 

Oreo is starting to walk well on the leash and enjoys his walks. 

He is waiting for the right person to come along and will make a very happy and loyal companion. Please get in touch if you would like to be his special friend. 

Sunny is a very energetic hunting dog and approximately 1year old. She is fully vet checked, healthy and neutered. 

She can be little bossy, so would prefer a home where she is the only dog as she does like a lot of attention.

Sunny is a very smart dog and would benefit from having an owner who would put the time in to do some training with her. She enjoys her walks and walks well on the leash.

Jed is a lovely male adult beagle cross. He is fully vet checked and neutered. Jed will be 4 years old later this year and looks like a beagle but with some basset hound vibes as he’s very laid back, calm, gentle and great with other dogs. 

Jed has lived with cats and has been in a home for the previous 2 to 3 years but sadly his owner passed away. 

He is house trained and he walks well on a lead

Jessie is  a hound cross and around 18 months old. She came in to the pound with two of her friends who have now been adopted so she can’t understand why nobody wants her. 

Jessie is vet checked with a clean bill of health. She loves her food and enjoys her walks. She is a very confident dog and enjoys lots of attention from both humans and other dogs. 

She has a passport and is all ready to go. 

Mack is around 18 months old and a friendly crossbreed - possibly with some Labrador. He comes fully vaccinated, vet checked and neutered. 

Mack is a very friendly, easy going dog and gets on with our volunteers and all the other dogs in the pound. 

He walks well on the lead and is a playful and loving medium sized dog. He has his own passport so just waiting for that special person to come along. 

Doyle is almost 5 years old and a hound cross.

He has been treated for Leishmania with low levels which is now in remission and just needs affordable daily medication to maintain his health.

Doyle loves his walks and is calm, kind and respectful. He walks well on the lead and is always eager to please.  He comes fully vaccinated, castrated and treated for fleas, ticks and worms.

He may be a little shy at first but once he trusts you, he will make a perfect and loyal companion.

Denver is around 1.5 years old, castrated, and roughly 18kg at his ideal weight. 

He has Leishmaniasis, it has already been treated and is easily managed with simple medication and routine monitoring. He’s healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home.

Denver has a wonderful nature, energetic, friendly, and excited to make new friends. He gets along well with other dogs and people.

If you’re looking for a small–medium companion with bags of personality and a heart of gold, Denver is your boy.

 Sadie is a beautiful young hound cross, possibly with a little German Shepherd. She expected to grow to a lovely medium size, around 15–20kg fully grown.

Sadie has a playful nature, but she is on the calmer side and not hyper. She gets on well with everyone, loves cuddles and affection, and walks beautifully on the lead.

She is a real sweetheart with a gentle nature.

Tom is a 3 year old male shepherd cross. He is fully vet checked and healthy. 

He has been in the pound since March after he was found hungry, frightened and roaming the streets. 

He is good with other dogs, very affectionate and walks well on the lead. He loves his walks and cuddles. 

He is all ready to go and just waiting for his forever home. 

Jenny is a beautiful female Malinois. 

She is around 16 months old and when she arrived at the pound in January, she was very malnourished and tested positive for Leish. This is now under control and easily managed. 

Jenny is a very gentle, calm and affectionate dog and gets on well with all our volunteers and other dogs. 

As you can see, she now looks amazing and just waiting for someone to offer her a home. Could you be that special person? 

Maisie is around 14 months old and a small hound cross. She was found abandoned and a little shy at first but once she gets to know you she is very affectionate and loves having cuddles. 

Maisie gets on well with others dogs and is learning to walk well on the lead. She does have Leish which is well controlled and is otherwise healthy. 

She would really benefit if she could move from the pound to her forever home. 

Bella is a pocket pointer crossed with something gorgeous. She is approximately one year old and was found abandoned at the pound. 

Bella is very calm, friendly, and gets on well with our other dogs. She walks well on the lead and is fully vet checked and healthy. 

She will make a lovely family pet and just needs the right person to come along. Please get in touch if you are that person. 

Ivy is a lovely adult Beagle, around 10 years old, with a gentle nature. She is a truly kind-hearted girl who asks for so little kindness and someone to love.

Ivy is Leish positive, but has been treated and just needs a daily tablet along with easy yearly monitoring to continue a normal life. She is good with other dogs.

She has a gentle, sensitive personality, Ivy is suited to a calm home without children.

Ivy came to us as an owner surrender, with no background given. 

Noel is a beautiful 2-year-old hound cross, weighing around 18–20kg, with the most gentle and affectionate nature.  He’s a calm, friendly boy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys being around people. Noel has a lovely, easygoing personality that makes him a pleasure to spend time with.  He’s also learning to walk nicely on the lead and is doing really well, happily heading out to explore and enjoying his walks.  Noel has all the makings of a fantastic family dog — sweet, loyal, 

Bob is around 15 months old and a small but chunky hound cross. 

He was very frightened when he first arrived at the pound but is now finding his feet and we are starting to see his beautiful, cheeky personality. 

Bob is learning to walk well on the lead and loves his food. He is healthy, gets on well with other dogs and is now just waiting for his special person to come along. 

Alba is a beautiful 3-year-old female lurcher, around 20–22kg, with the sweetest, most affectionate nature. She absolutely loves people and will happily lean in for cuddles and attention whenever she can. She’s great with other dogs and would be very happy sharing her home with a canine friend. Alba has recently started enjoying her walks and is loving the chance to explore the world. She’s a friendly, enthusiastic girl who simply enjoys being around people and being part of the action. Despite 

Orla is a lovely young adult female, around 2½ years old, with a gentle and sensitive nature. She’s healthy and petite, currently around 10kg, but will benefit from putting on a little more weight to reach her ideal 11–12kg.Orla is good with other dogs and would enjoy having a calm canine friend to help guide her.

Orla was sadly owner surrendered , but she’s ready to leave that chapter behind and find a kind, loving home where she can truly blossom.

Bertie is around 3 years old, healthy and castrated. He is an extremely nervous dog but has never ever shown any signs of aggressive behaviour. He can be picked up without issue and will move to his safe space if he feels uncomfortable. He loves all other dogs, and they help him feel more confident, so we do need to find a home with another dog. Bertie will need a home with no children.

Faye is estimated to be around 3 years old. We have had her fully vet checked and tested, she has a clean bill or health and has been spayed. 

Faye is a dominant female, so she would be best with a none dominant male, and would be more than happy to be the only dog! Faye has a spark for adventure and would love a very active home, with plenty of walks and mental stimulation. This girl is full of personality and is fantastic company, she is eager to please and quick to learn!

Savvas is just over a year old, fully vet checked, healthy and castrated. he is an incredibly fun-loving, good-natured guy! He walks well on his lead, listens to instructions well, and would love an active home. Savvas can be nervous in new situations, but once he is comfortable and bonds his beautiful personality shines though. Savvas is healthy and castrated. He is great with other dogs and a very well socialised boy. Savvas would like a home with either older children, or an adult household.
